About

Baby Reflex is a gentle and effective method of Reflexology that mothers and fathers can give to their own babies aged between one to twenty four months. It was developed by physiotherapist and Reflexologist Jenny Lee. This form of reflexology requires parents are trained by a qualified Reflexologist who is a baby reflex practitioner (for a list of qualified practitioners in your area visit www.babyreflex.co.uk).

Baby Reflex involves gentle stroking of reflex points on the feet (as opposed to adult reflexology that uses pressure on these points for treatment). Unlike baby massage, parents trained in baby reflex can use this therapy anywhere as only the feet are required to be uncovered. Many parents have used the techniques in places such as supermarkets when their infant becomes fraught to calm and soothe them. Baby reflex is ideally practiced for no longer than 5 minutes up to three times a day making it easy to fit into a busy schedule.

Course Outline

Baby reflex is a form of reflexology that involves the stroking of reflexology points on your infants feet. The aim of the sessions is to enable both parents to practice baby reflex on their infants safely and effectively.

The course is taught over 3 hours of teaching sessions. This can be divided into two or three sessions and can be taught one to one with parents or in bigger groups. Ideally both parents should attend as you practise the techniques on each other before practising finally on your baby after the session.

Sessions can be shuffled around depending on the main problems your infant is experiencing, but generally the sessions run as follows:-

Session 1

  • Feeding and Digestion
  • Reflux and Colic Relief
  • Constipation and Wind
  • Boosting the Immune System

Session 2

  • Calming
  • General calming techniques including the hyper baby point

Session 3

  • Well-Being
  • Teething pain relief
  • Ear, Nose, Eye and Throat complaints

Pricing

  • Baby/Child Reflexology Session £20
  • Baby Reflex Course (3 x 1 hour sessions) £40 per adult attending

Baby Reflex courses run on Wednesday or Saturday mornings.
